Hey Gorgeous!
I am super excited to finally let you in on the little secret I have been keeping..
I am so excited to announce my very own, first ever, link up!

It's called Wifey Wear Wednesday and it starts in ONE WEEK!
Before I give you the lowdown on the purpose behind Wifey Wear Wednesday, I want to give you a few little details.
Starts: December 3rd, 2014
Ends: We will have two months of Fashion Fun but if it does well, I'll extend!
Open to: Women Everywhere! You don't have to be a wife to participate. Read more!
Purpose of Wifey Wear Wednesday...
I started Wifey Wear Wednesday a few months ago on my former blog. I think it's time to bring it back...
A lot is written in the Bible about how to dress & how to present yourself. Being followers of Jesus, God has called His beloved daughters to a high standard of presenting ourselves.
This isn't your normal fashion link up....
We are His princesses! And princesses are classy & intentional about what they put on their bodies. I have a strong desire to see girls of all ages dress in a modern & up-to-date way without compromising our standards of beauty as women.
I think it’s so important to remember that beauty has nothing to do with how you dress. It’s not about how silky your hair is, if you have a thigh gap, or if your face is flawless. True beauty comes from the heart. It’s a way of living.
Beauty is defined in our culture and around the world by how you look on the outside. God defines beauty as how you look on the inside of your heart, your soul. I adore fashion & like to mix and match fun colors, patterns, & whatever else I can find on sale and honestly. But God always reminds me that He loves me despite my hot pink flip-flops & polka dot shorts. I don’t have to rely on my outward appearance to please anyone. For me, fashion is a fun hobby. It’s a way of expressing your mood, your attitude, & can even give glory to God!
I am creating Wifey Wear Wednesday to inspire women of all ages that it is possible to dress fashionably and still keep your dignity. You can look “good” without showing off skin. This is a collection of outfits that I express myself as a wifey & woman of God!
You are of more worth than a diamond!
Why "Wifey" Wear Wednesday?
Before becoming a wife, I rarely ever gave the clothing I wore a second look. I always tried to look decent, of course, but it wasn't until I married my best friend that I realized that I was made to honor my husband and God in all ways... and that included how I dress!
I also love link ups & think it's the best way to get to know other women in the blogging world! Wifey Wear Wednesday is a great way to step out of your comfort zone a little, meet new bloggers, & glorify God. Can it get any better?
Each week, I will announce a fun prompt. For example, next week's prompt is "Date Night Essentials". You can be as detailed in your WWW fashion post as you want. You can dress up or down. Just share with us your favorite outfits or outfits in your own closet that express who you are & what you represent!
Each week, I will share with you my favorite outfits from my closet. Please don't feel like you have to go out and buy a new outfit. Because I'm certainly not going to! This is a place for women who desire to find honoring fashion inspiration.
So, tell me... what's stopping you from participating?
If it's lack of self confidence, girlfriend, you are in the right place. This is a place where women embrace each feature that God has given us.
Whether you are a size 2 or a size 20, you are beautiful & you have a place. God made us all in His image! How awesome is that?!
Go ahead and grab this button & share with all of your friends! Stop back next week {December 3rd} to link up with us!
"Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." Proverbs 31:30
December 3rd Fashion Prompt: Date Night Essentials
Please share this new link up with your friends, fashion bloggers or not!

Ringing in the Holidays - Week's End

Don't you just love this time of the year? The Christmas tree & d├ęcor comes out of the attic, hot chocolate is bubbling on the stove, & menus are being written for turkey day.
This weekend was such a lovely one. Friday after work, I was able to head over to Starbucks with a little devotion with Jesus over coffee. I was so seriously blessed coming to the presence of my Loving Father after a week of me being selfish with my time. He forgives, always. That afternoon, my husband and I kicked the weekend off right with a much needed date night after almost a full week of me being sick in bed.
We Christmas shopped (yes!!), had a fun Target run, ate at our favorite restaurant downtown, & kicked up our feet with some delish hot cocoa from The Hot Chocolatier & a mini-marathon of The Office (oh, . Yes, it's as cool as it sounds.
On Saturday, we met up with Kristen from When at Home (who is seriously awesome) & her family who drove over to our city for the day. My husband and I photographed them and got to know them a little better. They are such a fun family! And her kids are precious!
Saturday was a full day of photography. We were blessed to photograph 6 church staff families from our church family! It was so incredibly fun!
Sunday, we had an amazing worship service. I couldn't help but imagine all of us in heaven one day singing the same praises & proclamations to our amazing God. One day we will be face to face with our Creator, our King. How amazing it that! We spent the rest of our Sunday watching football (I slept through it) & baking for our small group's thanksgiving dinner that night which was such a blessing! I recreated my grandmother's homemade sweet potato casserole! It wouldn't of been possible without my sweet husband cutting the sweet potatoes since I'm not allowed to hold a knife. ;)
Who is excited for this short work week? Holla! Get the turkey in the oven, I'm ready for a week of food & family!
Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!
I am so thankful for all of these people & this life God has gifted me with!

Currently Going On - FRIDAY!

It's Friday, friends! I have been sick in bed all week so it's crazy to me that it's already Friday! My husband and I have a great weekend ahead of us and it doesn't hurt that tonight is date night!
Check out all of the fun you may have missed..
Today I want to share with you 5 of my currently favorite things going on this holiday season!
1 //
Growing up, it was a tradition every Thanksgiving morning for my family to wake up early, make Pigs In A Blanket & watch Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. We have been doing it for years! Check out this year's line up! Did you know that in 1927, the balloons were filled with air and held up with sticks. They have come so far!
2 //
We all love Starbucks. Have you checked out their new collection? It's the Dot Collection! Okay, I confess, I am wanting this one in my stocking this year! Add a little Sbux giftcard to this mug & you have the perfect holiday gift!
3 //
Not sure what to wear to the annual Christmas party this year? Check out this amazing red and lacey dress that is perfect. For a more budget-friendly find, check out this one! I confess, I love the cheetah print belt.
4 //
It's so important to stand up for what you believe in. Otherwise, you will never make a difference. Check out this article about marriage & views on the topic. "The church cannot be salt and light in a crumbling culture if it caves in to the sexual revolution and fails to provide a counter-culture witness. It is a myth that we must give up Biblical truth on sexuality and marriage in order to evangelize." -Rick Warren
5 //
I have a surprise! A new, fun, & super awesome project is in the works here on the blog and it's one that you ladies are going to love! I will be posting all about it here NEXT WEDNESDAY! Don't miss it! Make sure that you are subscribed to this blog, Hot Tea and the Empty Seat, either by email or on bloglovin'! I'm excited to launch this new project!! Here is a hint: fashion fun. ;)
This was my first Friday post about what's currently going on in our culture but I loved it! Here is to many more! And don't forget.. stop back by next WEDNESDAY to check out my new & exciting project that YOU can be involved in!! It's going to be fun, friends!

Thankful Thursdays {WHEN}

Hey Lovelies! I am so glad that you are back for week 3 of Thankful Thursdays! I have met so many new & sweet bloggers because of this link up that I am co-hosting with Jamie & Carrie and for that I am so thankful!
This week's prompt is: WHEN are you thankful?
I didn't have to think for very long on this one. I am thankful WHEN God shows me grace. This happens daily, hourly, minutely, with each breath.
Y'all, sometimes I just downright stink. Okay, a lot of the time I stink. Not literally but figuratively speaking. I am so sinful and I hate that! Thankfully, God- my loving Father and Savior- shows me grace and pardons my sin every time I fall short.
Can you believe that? That a perfect God would do that for sinners like us?
We deserve condemnation but no, God says, "That's my daughter. That's my son. My beautiful creation and I love them. I will forgive and forgive and forgive. Because I am love." There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.
That's what God says about me and that's what He says about you. That's why Jesus died on the cross to save us.
Speaking of the Cross... I'm so thankful for the moment WHEN Jesus washed away my sin.
Yes, I mess up. Daily. But Jesus... He doesn't hold that against me. Because by and through His blood on that death-defying, soul-saving cross, He purchased my soul. I just had to accept it and let it change my life. And for that, I am eternally thankful.
Are you?
Now it's your turn! Share with us when you are thankful!

A Few of my Favorite Things! {Christmas Edition}

Christmas isn't about the gifts or the candy canes or the reindeer. It's all about Jesus & His birth into this world. The gifts are just a fun part of the bigger picture. When I was a kid, my mom would spoil us to no end with a plethora of gifts galore.
And I can't lie.. I used to sit on the couch and mark everything I wanted in the JCPenney Christmas catalog. Anyone else?! Of course, my list ended up being a mile long. Oh, the joys of childhood. Now I am an old married woman and still my family asks us kids what we want! I love the fun of the holidays! Here is a few of my favorite things that are on my Christmas list this year. Hint, hint mom! And Joe. And Mema. I know you guys are reading this one ;)

Christmas Wish List

1- Starbucks Gift Card & Travel Mug
2- That hat
3- Statement Necklaces
4- A light teal purse
5- Wedges
7- J. Crew Gift Card {we just got one in our mall!}
8- Lifeway Gift Card for book buying

not pictured: essential oils, bedroom furnishings, battery grip for camera ;)

What is on your Christmas wish list this year? Are any of these a few of your favorite things?

Thanksgiving Day Inspiration!

I absolutely adore this time of the year! It's that time when families get together and celebrate togetherness & remembrance of Christ's soon arrival into the world.
Thanksgiving. The day of good food & warm hugs.
I am linking up with Lisa & her friends for a Holiday Link Up focused on Thanksgiving. I am going to share a bit of inspiration for the entire holiday day!

How to Decorate?

What to Wear?
What to Eat?
What's for Dessert?
I hope that you were able to take great inspiration in how to decorate, what to wear & eat for Thanksgiving Day! I know that I will be sporting my new tweed vest over plaid and enjoying a slice or two of pumpkin pie! Be sure to stop back by this Thursday for our link up - Thankful Thursdays!
Happy Thanksgiving y'all!

Let's Do Coffee // Friday Faves

I adore coffee dates. There is something magical that happens over coffee with a friend. That friendship grows & flourishes and somehow, so much wisdom comes from sipping hot coffee with another. When someone asks me to get together somewhere, I am always hoping it's at a coffee shop!
Let's pretend we are sitting together over coffee. I want to know how you are really doing. The truth. Here are a few of my highs + lows in my life and I hope you share a little bit about how your life is going as well.
+ My photography business is flourishing & my amazing husband just bought me my dream camera. I feel like a kid again, checking the mail... everyday. If you are in or around the TN region and would love a photographer, send me a quick email & let's get together!
+ My husband and I, with our friends Nick & Jaimie, are hosting our first annual Christmas celebration this December so I have been pinning & brainstorming all week. It has put me right into the Christmas Spirit! I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet but I say bring on the reindeer & hot cocoa!
+ I've gotten to know so many new people through this blogging world, specifically through a new Link Up that I am co-hosting every Thursday! We share the who, what, when, & where's of our thankfulness! I would love it if you stopped by next Thursday and linked up with us!
+ Last night, my husband and I met up with our friends, Tim & Jessica, along with two women who have a ministry that feeds and helps homeless people here in our town. We walked through woods & under bridges delivering food, hugging necks, and praying for warmth on the cold nights. It brought so much joy to my heart talking with and listening to those men who are struggling to survive. They were all SO kind, thankful, and personable and it convicted my heart in many ways. We can't wait to go back next week!
+ I haven't been diligent in my quiet time with God this week like I should/want/need to be. It makes me feel awful, honestly. It's too easy to put other things, even good things, in front of our relationship with God. But those other things never satisfy. They never give me strength and peace like my intentional time with the Giver of all good things. I really need to repent & move forward.
How are you, my friend? I would love to pray for you. Please let me know in the comment section below how I can lift you up in prayer. Blessings!

Thankful Thursday + a VLOG!

Hey friend! I'm so glad that you are here! How are you? But really, how are you

Today I am feeling quite thankful.

I have everything I need in Christ yet He blesses me with even more: a husband, a family, a house, running water, heat.
We have so much to be thankful for!

Today is Thursday (if you didn't know already) and that means it's the second week of our new link up.. Thankful Thursdays!

It's also the week for Faith's Golden Vlog link up (which I completely adore!) that she does every month!

I'm combining the two into one gloriously awkward and probably full of rambling vlog about thankfulness & thanksgiving!

You don't have to make a vlog but if you are brave enough, I encourage you to go link up with Faith here!

If you aren't into vlogging, please link up with me, Jamie, & Carrie for this week's Thankful Thursday.

The prompt is: WHAT are you thankful for?

I can't wait to read everyone's posts & vlogs! Happy thanksgiving, y'all!

I'm Cohosting! Hump Day Happenings

Hey everyone! Today I am co-hosting with one of my favorite bloggers, Jenna from A Savory Feast & her friend, Megan, from The Walker Fireside Chats for another week of...

HDH 35 Reed Diffuser
HDH 35 Fall Centerpieces

I thought Alli's ideas were genius, especially since she focused on gifting kids memories. I think even adults would benefit from these ideas!

  HDH 35 Kid Christmas Gifts

I chose Handmade Holidays: Chalkboard Plate from A Life in Balance. This would be such an easy craft to make with a Goodwill plate. You could change the words on it for any holiday or special occasion.

I chose Sum of their Stories' Camera Lens Cloth Pouch Tutorial. As a photographer, I would love this! It is too handy!
Head on over to Jenna's blog or Megan's blog to link up with us!
