Loving Your Season {Wednesday's Words}

It's easy to love this season that we are in, am I right? Fall brings a sense of comfort to our souls in the form of pumpkin spice, soups, & the assurance that Christmas is coming up soon.

But when winter starts to creep in & it's time to get bundled up, it's just plain hard.
 It's hard to love every season.

So it goes with life.

It's easy to love the seasons of life when everything is just dandy. The bills are getting paid, everyone is healthy, and you just really can't complain. Those seasons are breezy like fall.

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven..."
Ecclesiastes 3:1

 But then, you get that call. You lose that job. You hate that job. Your family member is diagnosed. You lose that baby. You just can't go on.
In those seasons, it's hard. The air is frigid, the rain is pouring hard and you just keep slipping.

We must hold on to hope. We mustn't give in. In every single season of life, beloved, there is One who is able.

He is the Creator and Sustainer of each and every season. The good, the bad, the mundane, the marvelous.

It may seem invisible but God is doing some amazing things in you right now regardless of the season you find yourself in. You can rest in that truth and trust His hand. Because even in the darkest night and coldest winter, His heart is full and warm. His hands will hold you up. He can sustain you.

It's time to be honest. Because I can say this but it takes truly living it out to make a difference. Friend, I've been there. I know what it's like to suffer and have a broken heart. I know what it's like to celebrate and not worry about a thing. I know what it's like to fail and fail over and over with no light in sight. I know what it's like to feel free. I know what it's like to feel defeated and worthless. But I have a Savior who is never defeated. I have a Savior who defeats, who conquers, who breaks down that icy wall in your heart, who heals every wound, and is in control of each and every season.

Girlfriend, praise Him in the storm. Praise Him in the light. Praise Him in the darkness. He is in control & this season too shall pass.

  4. Amen. God is there we just have to trust and know He is our living hope and He is our stronghold. I love what Psalm 62:2 says. He alone is my rocak and my salvation, my fortress, I shall not be greatly shaken.
